LED Damp-Proof Lights for Cellars, Garages and Workshops

LED damp-proof lights are built for rooms where dust, moisture or splash water occur. Their sealed housing with gasket achieves IP65 protection and withstands cleaning with a water jet. Typical locations are cellars, garages, underground car parks, workshops, warehouses and agricultural buildings.

Compared with old fluorescent battens, the LED models save considerable energy and need no tube changes. Length and luminous flux are the main selection criteria: smaller models suffice for cellars, while longer high-output versions make sense in halls. Many luminaires can be linked into continuous light bands.

LED Floodlights for Yards, Facades and Sports Grounds

LED floodlights bring light to large outdoor areas – from the yard and facade to the sports ground. Our range extends from compact 10-watt fittings for the front door to powerful 1.500-watt models for storage yards and sports facilities. All floodlights are weatherproof to IP65 or IP66 and withstand rain, snow and frost.

Some models are available with an infrared motion sensor so the light switches on only when needed, saving energy. LED Garden Lighting for Outdoor Areas

LED garden lighting stages paths, plants and water features after dark. This category includes inground spotlights for setting into terraces, driveways or lawns as well as underwater lights for ponds, pools and fountains. All fittings are made of stainless steel and protected to IP67 or IP68 depending on the location.

Most models run on 24 volt low-voltage technology, which makes operation outdoors and near water safe. As a planning rule: a few deliberately placed points of light usually work better than uniform continuous lighting. Matching drivers and cable connectors are available in our accessories category.

LED High Bay Lighting for Industry and Commerce

LED high bay lighting has to light large rooms with high ceilings reliably while operating economically. This category includes UFO high bay lights, linear high bay luminaires and canopy fittings for different ceiling heights and uses. Ceiling height, floor area and the type of work are decisive: in warehouses even base brightness matters most, at assembly workstations a low glare rating too.

The beam angle must match the height – narrower for high ceilings, wider for low ones. Compared with old mercury vapour or fluorescent installations, LED high bays often save more than half the energy costs. LED Panels for Office, Practice and Retail

LED panels create a large, evenly lit surface instead of individual bright points. This makes them the standard solution for offices, medical practices, schools and meeting rooms where calm, low-glare light is wanted. We stock backlit panels, in which the LEDs sit behind the diffuser, and edgelit panels with side-fed light and an especially slim design.

The common sizes 60x60, 62x62, 120x30 and 120x60 centimetres are available to suit standard ceiling grids. For ceilings without a grid we offer surface mounting frames that allow direct installation. Watch the UGR value where screen work takes place – the lower, the more comfortable.

LED Track System for Retail and Commerce

An LED track system is the most flexible way to light sales areas. The luminaires are fitted onto the 3-phase busbar via an adapter and can be moved, added to or replaced at any time – with no electrical work at the ceiling. Using the three phases L1, L2 and L3 you switch several lighting groups separately, for example general light and shop window.

This category contains spotlights, linear luminaires, slim panels, food lighting and emergency fittings for the same track. Our adapters fit the common European systems such as Stucchi, Global, Staff, Unipro, Eutrac and Ivela as well as the EU universal standard. If your store layout changes, simply move the luminaires.

LED Street Lighting for Paths, Squares and Residential Areas

LED street lighting replaces old sodium and mercury vapour fittings while considerably reducing energy consumption. This category includes street lights for carriageways, post top luminaires for parks and residential areas, and lanterns in a classic style. All luminaires are protected to IP66 against dust and water jets and built for year-round outdoor use.

Many models allow power and colour temperature to be set by switch, so one fitting serves different situations. In residential areas warm light at 3000 K or below makes sense, as it disturbs residents and insects less. The adapters usually fit poles with 60 and 76 millimetre diameters.

LED Strips for Furniture, Display Cases and Light Lines

LED strips are flexible light bands that can be stuck to almost any surface. Use them to light display cases, shelves, furniture fronts, alcoves and ceiling edges – anywhere a normal luminaire would be too large. We stock two technologies: classic SMD strips with individual visible light points and COB strips that create a continuous, dot-free line of light.

For voltage you can choose between 24 volt low voltage, which needs a driver, and 230 volt strips run directly from the mains. Watch the power per metre: it determines both brightness and the size of driver required. Matching drivers, profiles and connectors are in our accessories category.

LED Accessories for Installation and Operation

A finished lighting project involves more than the luminaire itself. This category contains drivers for LED strips and fittings, motion sensors for retrofitting, brackets and pole adapters as well as cable and plug connectors. Drivers in particular deserve a careful look: the output must match the connected load and should offer around 20 percent headroom so the unit does not permanently run at its limit.

Motion sensors reduce energy costs where light is only needed occasionally – in corridors, stairwells and outdoor areas. Brackets and adapters ensure floodlights and street luminaires sit securely in the intended place. If you are unsure which accessory suits your fitting, just ask us.

The COB LED strip creates a continuous line of light with no visible individual points. Whereas conventional strips leave the single LEDs recognisable as dots, here 320 tiny diodes per metre sit closely together beneath a shared cover. The result is a soft, even band of light – ideal for indirect lighting, display cases, furniture and ceiling coves.

What does COB mean – and why are there no dots?

What sets COB apart from a normal LED strip? In classic SMD strips, individual LEDs sit on the board at intervals of roughly one to two centimetres. Look directly at it, or shine it onto a nearby wall, and you see those dots as a row. COB stands for chip on board: here the diodes are considerably smaller, sit much closer together and are covered jointly by a silicone layer. Light therefore emerges as a closed line.

CRI > 90: colours that are true

With a colour rendering index above 90, this strip sits well above the usual standard. The value describes how natural colours look under the light – 100 would equal daylight. Above 90 even subtle colour nuances are reproduced correctly: wood keeps its warm tone, fabrics do not look washed out, food looks fresh. That matters wherever the strip lights goods, materials or dishes – in display cases, at counters and in the kitchen.

Choose your colour temperature

2200 K extra warm white – a very warm, slightly amber light reminiscent of candlelight
2700 K warm white – the light of a classic incandescent bulb – warm, soft and homely
3000 K warm white – warm white but somewhat brighter and crisper than 2700 K
4000 K neutral white – neutral white and looks businesslike without appearing cold
6000 K cool white – cool white and delivers the brightest, crispest light in this range

This strip is available in five colour temperatures. For living spaces and hospitality we recommend 2200 to 3000 K, for work areas and display cases 4000 K, and for workshops and technical applications 6000 K.

High-quality LED chips by Sanan

The light source consists of LED chips by Sanan. Sanan Optoelectronics was founded in Xiamen in 2000, is stock-listed and is regarded as China's largest LED chip manufacturer as well as one of the three largest worldwide. This matters particularly with LED strips: because many hundreds of chips sit on one reel, they all have to share exactly the same colour temperature. A manufacturer of this scale works with very tight production tolerances – so no visible colour differences appear along the length of the strip.

Choosing the right driver

The strip runs on 24 volt direct current and therefore needs a driver. A simple rule applies when choosing one: calculate the total load and pick a driver with at least 20 percent headroom. A full reel means 5 metres × 8 watts = 40 watts, so the driver should supply at least 50 watts. A unit permanently run at its limit gets hot and fails considerably sooner. Installation, cutting and routing

Installation is straightforward: a strong double-sided adhesive tape on the back holds the strip securely on clean, grease-free surfaces. It can be shortened every 50 millimetres at the marked cutting points, where the contacts for connection are located. The strip may be bent lengthwise but not sharply creased; as a rule of thumb allow a bending diameter of at least one centimetre. It is also important to run no more than 5 metres per feed. The reason: voltage drops along the narrow copper tracks of the board as length increases. Connect two reels one after another and less voltage arrives at the end – the strip visibly dims there. Longer runs are therefore connected in parallel, with each reel having its own supply from the driver. Brightness then stays even across the whole length.

Applications

Typical locations are display cases and showcases, kitchen wall units, shelves and furniture, alcoves and ceiling coves for indirect lighting, stairs and handrails as well as counters in retail. As the strip is only 8 millimetres wide and 2.3 millimetres high, it disappears into narrow profiles and joints too. Note the IP20 rating, though: for dry interior spaces only – not in bathrooms, outdoors or in damp rooms.
