Description
LED VU1 Linear Luminaire – Slim Track Spotlight, Individually Tiltable
1152 mm · black housing · CRI > 90 · 120° · 3-phase track
The LED VU1 linear luminaire combines a modern, flat design with high light output. Its standard 120° beam lights large areas softly and with little glare. Because the luminaire folds out and tilts individually up to 30°, you decide whether light spreads evenly through the room or highlights a specific area. For controllable installations the luminaire is also available in a DALI-2 version on request: it can then be dimmed steplessly and integrated into a central lighting control system.

Individually tiltable: light exactly where you need it
The luminaire is not fixed rigidly. It folds down and can then be tilted individually by up to 30° to the side. With one and the same luminaire you can either light a surface evenly or highlight a specific zone. If you rearrange the space later, you realign the light within seconds – no tools, no rebuilding.
Beam angles: which one suits your application?
Ex works the luminaire comes with a 120° optic – the classic angle for area lighting. For special requirements further beam angles are available on request. Here is what the individual versions do:
- 120° (standard) – very wide angle for even base light. First choice for normal ceiling heights up to about 4 m, for aisles, offices, sales rooms and workshops.
- 90° – slightly more focused than 120°. At the same height it puts more light on the floor and reduces stray light on the walls – good for aisles and shelf rows.
- 60° – medium angle for higher ceilings (approx. 4–6 m) or when a certain zone should be noticeably brighter than the rest of the room.
- 30° – narrow spot angle. Creates strong accents on individual products, displays or artworks and suits high ceilings because the light arrives concentrated below.
- 25° double (DS25°) – two narrow beams from one luminaire. Ideal when two opposite shelf sides of an aisle are to be lit at the same time.
- 25° asymmetric (L/R) – throws the light offset to the left or right. Perfect for wall shelves, wall pictures or window walls when the luminaire cannot hang directly in front.
- Opal cover 120° – a milky cover instead of a lens. The light is diffused softly and the luminous surface looks uniform – particularly low-glare for offices and anywhere soft light is desired.
As a rule of thumb: the higher the ceiling and the more targeted the light should be, the narrower the angle. For normal room heights and even brightness the standard 120° optic is the right choice.
Not sure which beam angle suits your room? Simply get in touch – we are happy to advise you and will find the right optic for your ceiling height and application together with you. The lenses for the different beam angles can be selected at no extra charge after consultation with us.
CRI > 90: colours like daylight
CRI > 90 means colours appear as they truly are. A full red share in the spectrum makes textiles, food and decoration look vivid and appetising. Wherever colour fidelity counts – fashion, jewellery, cosmetics, delicatessen or exhibitions – this version is the right choice.
Long service life – L80 at 100,000 hours
What does L80 / 100,000 hours mean? Simply this: after 100,000 hours of operation the luminaire still delivers at least 80 % of its day-one brightness. At ten hours of use per day that is more than 27 years. Illumination therefore stays virtually constant for a very long time.
High-quality LED chips by Sanan
Who is behind the LEDs? The light sources in this luminaire come from Sanan Optoelectronics – a listed company founded in 2000 and headquartered in Xiamen, China. Sanan is China's largest LED chip manufacturer and ranks among the world's top suppliers in the industry. The company produces several hundred billion LED chips per year, covering roughly half of China's entire output. Why this matters to you: a manufacturer of this scale does not produce by chance but with strict quality control and very tight production tolerances. The result is chips with high efficacy, precise colour temperature (SDCM < 5) and low degradation – luminaires from one batch shine equally bright and equally coloured, even years later.
Mounting & track compatibility
All you need for installation is a 3-phase busbar – the VU1 is placed with its adapter and locks in immediately. You can change the position and number of luminaires at any time, without electrical rework at the ceiling. Thanks to L1/L2/L3 phase selection you switch lighting groups separately. The luminaire is compatible with Stucchi, Global, Staff, Unipro, Eutrac, Ivela and the EU universal standard (Safety Class I).
Choose your colour temperature
- 3000 K warm white – the typical choice for hospitality, hotels, boutiques and reception areas.
- 4000 K neutral white – the all-rounder for sales rooms, boutiques, offices and exhibitions.
- 5000 K daylight white – ideal for assembly, technical work, labs and areas that require close inspection.
- 6000 K cool white – proven in storage, production and high halls.
This luminaire is available in four colour temperatures. Select the variant that suits your room when ordering.
Why CRI > 90 delivers slightly fewer lumens
The difference in luminous flux between CRI > 90 and CRI > 80 has a simple background: the better the colour rendering, the more complete the spectrum has to be. The increased red content, however, contributes less to measured brightness because the eye is less responsive there. Together with conversion losses this results in slightly fewer lumens per watt – a trade that pays off wherever colours must look exact.
Black housing: luminous flux & look
You may have noticed that the black-housing version states slightly fewer lumens than the white one. This is due to reflection inside: part of the LED light first hits the internal surfaces of housing and optic. White surfaces reflect this light almost completely and send it outward, while black surfaces absorb some of it and turn it into heat. That is why luminous flux and efficacy (lm/W) are somewhat lower in black. In return the black version glares less and blends discreetly into the ceiling – often exactly what shops and boutiques want.
Power steps & luminous flux
| Power step | Power | Luminous flux |
|---|---|---|
| Step 1 (maximum) | 48 W | 6,960 lm |
| Step 2 | 40 W | 5,800 lm |
| Step 3 | 34 W | 4,930 lm |
| Step 4 (minimum) | 27 W | 3,915 lm |
Power is selected directly at the luminaire via switch – so you match brightness to the room without additional devices and save energy permanently.

Applications
The VU1 is a true all-rounder for interiors with a track system. In retail it lights sales floors and shelf aisles evenly and highlights individual merchandise areas with tilted luminaires. In the office it provides pleasant working light above desks and meeting islands. In galleries, exhibitions and showrooms the light can be flexibly aimed at changing exhibits. Corridors, reception areas, workshops and car dealerships also benefit from the mix of wide base light and individually tiltable luminaires.
