Description
LED VU1 Linear Luminaire – Slim Track Spotlight, Individually Tiltable
1438 mm · black · 5000 K daylight white · CRI > 90 · 120°
With the LED VU1 linear luminaire you get a versatile track spotlight in a slim design. The standard 120° beam provides broad, even base brightness; in addition, each luminaire folds down and swivels individually from 0 to 30° sideways. You can adjust the light direction at any time without moving the luminaire along the track. For controllable installations the luminaire is also available in a DALI-2 version on request: it can then be dimmed steplessly and integrated into a central lighting control system.

Individually tiltable: light exactly where you need it
Individually tiltable means each luminaire can be folded down out of the track and then turned steplessly between 0° and 30° to the left or right. So you aim the light exactly where it is needed – at a shelf wall, a display or a workstation. This is especially handy when the interior changes: instead of rebuilding, you simply re-aim the luminaires.
Beam angles: which one suits your application?
The standard beam angle is 120°: wide, soft and ideal for general room lighting. If you want to use light more selectively, other lenses are optionally available. The following overview explains which angle best fits which purpose:
- 120° (standard) – very wide angle for even base light. First choice for normal ceiling heights up to about 4 m, for aisles, offices, sales rooms and workshops.
- 90° – slightly more focused than 120°. At the same height it puts more light on the floor and reduces stray light on the walls – good for aisles and shelf rows.
- 60° – medium angle for higher ceilings (approx. 4–6 m) or when a certain zone should be noticeably brighter than the rest of the room.
- 30° – narrow spot angle. Creates strong accents on individual products, displays or artworks and suits high ceilings because the light arrives concentrated below.
- 25° double (DS25°) – two narrow beams from one luminaire. Ideal when two opposite shelf sides of an aisle are to be lit at the same time.
- 25° asymmetric (L/R) – throws the light offset to the left or right. Perfect for wall shelves, wall pictures or window walls when the luminaire cannot hang directly in front.
- Opal cover 120° – a milky cover instead of a lens. The light is diffused softly and the luminous surface looks uniform – particularly low-glare for offices and anywhere soft light is desired.
As a rule of thumb: the higher the ceiling and the more targeted the light should be, the narrower the angle. For normal room heights and even brightness the standard 120° optic is the right choice.
Not sure which beam angle suits your room? Simply get in touch – we are happy to advise you and will find the right optic for your ceiling height and application together with you. The lenses for the different beam angles can be selected at no extra charge after consultation with us.
CRI > 90: colours like daylight
CRI > 90 means colours appear as they truly are. A full red share in the spectrum makes textiles, food and decoration look vivid and appetising. Wherever colour fidelity counts – fashion, jewellery, cosmetics, delicatessen or exhibitions – this version is the right choice.
Long service life – L80 at 100,000 hours
The figure L80 at 100,000 hours describes how slowly the LEDs dim over time. Even after 100,000 operating hours they still emit at least 80 % of their original brightness. There is no sudden failure, only a very slow, barely visible decline – easy to plan for and low on maintenance.
High-quality LED chips by Sanan
We deliberately rely on chips by Sanan as the light source. Sanan Optoelectronics was founded in Xiamen in 2000, is stock-listed and is regarded as the LED chip market leader in China as well as one of the three largest manufacturers worldwide. The company runs its own epitaxy and chip production, invests continuously in research and development and holds more than a thousand patents; its customers include well-known international lighting and technology brands. In practical terms this origin means: plenty of light per watt, precisely maintained colour temperatures and a service life that delivers on its promise even in continuous operation.
Mounting & track compatibility
Mounting is simple: the luminaire clicks onto a 3-phase busbar via its adapter – place, turn, done. Because the track carries three separate phases, you can switch different groups of luminaires independently. The adapter is compatible with the widespread systems Stucchi, Global, Staff, Unipro, Eutrac and Ivela as well as the EU universal standard; the design is Safety Class I.
Colour temperature 5000 K – daylight white
Daylight white light looks crisp and alert – ideal for assembly, technical work, labs and areas that require close inspection.
Why CRI > 90 delivers slightly fewer lumens
You may wonder why the CRI > 90 version delivers fewer lumens than the CRI > 80 version. For very good colour rendering the LED needs a fuller light spectrum – above all with more red content. Yet the human eye is less sensitive in this red range, and the additional phosphor conversion costs some energy. At the same wattage, therefore, slightly fewer lumens come out. In return you get noticeably more natural colours.
Black housing: luminous flux & look
With a black housing the luminous flux is deliberately a little lower than with white – this is not a difference in quality but physics. Inside the luminaire, light is redirected several times before it exits. Bright surfaces reflect very well, dark surfaces absorb part of it and release it as heat. The result: slightly fewer lumens and marginally lower efficacy (lm/W). Anyone looking for an unobtrusive, low-glare appearance still makes the right choice with black.
Power steps & luminous flux
| Power step | Power | Luminous flux |
|---|---|---|
| Step 1 (maximum) | 60 W | 8,700 lm |
| Step 2 | 50 W | 7,250 lm |
| Step 3 | 42 W | 6,090 lm |
| Step 4 (minimum) | 33 W | 4,785 lm |
Power is selected directly at the luminaire via switch – so you match brightness to the room without additional devices and save energy permanently.

Applications
Typical locations are shops, boutiques, supermarkets, showrooms, galleries, offices, conference rooms, corridors and reception areas as well as workshops and exhibition halls. Because the luminaire simply clicks onto the track, the lighting can change along with the room – new shelves, new ranges or a new layout mean no electrical rework, just repositioning and re-aiming the luminaires.
