This RGB+CCT COB LED strip combines two light sources in one band: coloured light in almost any shade and true white light whose colour temperature you adjust steplessly between cosy warm white (3000 K) and crisp cool white (6000 K). 840 tiny diodes per metre sit closely together beneath a shared cover and merge into a continuous line of light – without the visible individual dots of conventional strips. A single installation thus delivers mood lighting in the evening and pleasant functional light during the day.

What does RGB+CCT mean – and why dedicated white chips?
A pure RGB strip can only “mix” white by lighting red, green and blue at the same time. The result usually looks bluish or pale and is hardly suitable as pleasant room lighting. CCT stands for correlated colour temperature, i.e. the colour temperature of white. In addition to the RGB chips, this strip carries dedicated warm white and cool white chips, so white light comes directly from phosphor LEDs – natural and even. By mixing the two white channels you can set any intermediate tone, such as neutral white around 4000 K. And because all five channels can be combined, soft pastel shades are possible too by brightening a colour with white.
What does COB mean – and why are there no dots?
COB stands for chip on board. In conventional strips, individual housed LEDs sit one to two centimetres apart on the board and are visible as a row of dots – with mixed colours the separate colour chips are often visible too. With the COB principle far smaller chips are placed directly on the circuit board and encapsulated together. At 840 per metre they sit so closely that the eye can no longer separate individual points.
The five light channels
Each channel is regulated independently by the controller. The table shows wavelength or colour temperature and the power per metre at full output:

Choosing the right driver and controller
The strip runs on 24 volt direct current. With all five channels fully on it draws 21 watts per metre – for a full 5 metre reel that is 5 × 21 watts = 105 watts. As a driver should not supply more than about 80 percent of its rated output continuously, you need at least 132 watts; in practice a 150 watt driver is a good choice. For control you need a five-channel RGB+CCT controller (also called RGBCW or RGBWW), which must likewise be rated for this load. A plain RGB controller does not drive the white channels. Connection is six-pin: one shared positive lead plus one each for red, green, blue, warm white and cool white. Drivers and controllers are available in our accessories category.
Installation, cutting and routing
The strip is fixed using the strong double-sided adhesive tape on its back; the surface should be smooth, clean and grease-free. It can be shortened every 35.71 millimetres at the marked points, where the six contacts for connection sit. The strip may be bent lengthwise but not sharply creased; keep to a bending diameter of at least one centimetre and avoid pressing sharp objects against the light surface. Also run no more than 5 metres from one supply: voltage drops along the copper tracks over distance, so a longer run glows visibly dimmer towards the end and reproduces colours inaccurately. Longer runs are therefore connected in parallel.

Applications
RGB+CCT strips are the right choice when lighting needs to do both: shape a space and illuminate it. Typical uses are ceiling coves and indirect wall lighting in living areas, kitchen and furniture lighting, display cases, bars and counters, hospitality, hotels and wellness areas, home cinemas as well as bedrooms and children's rooms. During the day neutral or cool white provides clear vision, in the evening warm white creates comfort – and for special occasions you add coloured accents. Note the IP20 rating – the strip is suitable exclusively for dry indoor areas.
