An office floor lamp that needs no installation: place it next to the desk, plug it in, done. Most of the light shines upwards and is reflected by the ceiling, the rest illuminates the working surface directly. The result is soft, glare-free lighting as required for screen workplaces – and you can rearrange the workplace at any time. The luminaire itself is a restrained design element: a narrow, straight profile without playful details, available in silver, black or white – whichever suits the interior.

Direct and indirect light: why the split?

The output is split into two directions: 70 watts go upwards, 30 watts downwards. The principle is simple: light arriving via the ceiling looks soft and low in shadow because it comes from a large area rather than a point. So that enough still reaches the desk, the direct share supplements the lighting from above. In practice this means bright working light without harsh contrasts and without reflections in the monitor.

UGR < 13 – what it means for screen work

UGR stands for Unified Glare Rating and is the measure of glare. Ordinary office luminaires must stay below 19; this floor lamp reaches a value below 13 and therefore sits in the range recommended for demanding visual tasks. This is made possible by precise micro-reflector optics with a defined cut-off angle: light is focused downwards instead of scattering widely into the room.

Touch control with synchronous dimming

Operation is via touch-sensitive buttons on the lamp head. Direct and indirect light are switched individually; dimming is synchronous, so both change together in one movement and the light distribution in the room always stays balanced. Holding a button additionally sets the colour temperature. Both controls – brightness and colour – are therefore right on the luminaire, with no remote or app needed.

Motion sensor and daylight sensor

The luminaire works with motion and daylight sensors. The motion sensor monitors the area in front of the luminaire; if it stays empty for 20 minutes, brightness drops to 30 percent, and after a further 10 minutes the luminaire switches off. As soon as someone approaches again it switches on automatically. The daylight sensor memorises the brightness once set as a target value and keeps it constant by compensating for incoming daylight. On bright days the luminaire therefore runs at lower power.

Tunable white – colour temperature 2700–5000 K

The colour temperature is adjustable and covers the range 2700–5000 K. That is more than a comfort feature: cooler, more blue-rich light in the morning supports alertness, while warmer light in the afternoon and evening has a calming effect. If you prefer not to control the change yourself, the automatic mode follows the course of daylight.

Full-spectrum LED with Ra > 95 and R9 > 95

This version works with full-spectrum LEDs and achieves a colour rendering index above Ra 95 with an R9 value above 95. The general Ra value describes how natural colours look overall; R9 stands specifically for saturated red – the range where simple LEDs are weakest. Both values above 95 mean light that comes very close to daylight. For workplaces where colours are assessed – graphics, printing, textiles, medicine or cosmetics – this is the decisive difference. The price for it is slightly lower efficacy, as a full spectrum requires more energy.

Service life and colour consistency

L80(B10) at 50,000 hours describes how reliably brightness is retained over the years: after this operating period at least 90 percent of the luminaires still deliver over 80 percent of their initial luminous flux. Added to this is tight colour consistency of SDCM 3 – neighbouring luminaires in an office therefore show no visible colour differences.

Placed instead of installed

Placed rather than installed: the luminaire stands on a base of 480 × 300 millimetres and brings the lamp head to a height of 1,960 millimetres. A socket is all that is needed for commissioning. That saves not only installation costs but preserves flexibility: if a workplace moves, the luminaire simply moves with it. For rented premises where work on the ceiling is not permitted, this is often the only way to retrofit compliant working light.

Housing colour: white

The housing of this variant is white. The light colour makes the luminaire appear light and unobtrusive and particularly suits friendly, bright office environments and Scandinavian-inspired interiors; alternatively the luminaire is also available in silver and black.

Applications

Typical locations are office workplaces of all kinds: private office, open space, coworking, conference room and home office. The luminaire is particularly useful in rooms with concrete ceilings or in rented premises where ceiling luminaires may not be installed. It equally suits situations where individual workplaces need better light than the rest of the room – at design, inspection or graphics stations, for example.
