This flat LED ceiling luminaire is built for covered outdoor areas where installation height is limited. From 200 watts of connected load it produces 34,000 lumens, reliably lighting even extensive areas beneath a canopy. At just 105 millimetres high it does not intrude into the vehicle zone – in demand at petrol stations, car parks, delivery areas and underpasses.

Why a canopy light and not a high bay?
Conditions beneath a canopy differ from those in a hall. Ceiling height is low while vehicles pass closely underneath. A suspended high bay fitting would be in the way here and would also dazzle, as it sits in the drivers' field of view. The canopy light is therefore built flat and mounted directly to the underside of the canopy or recessed into it. The wide 100 degree beam ensures the area is lit evenly despite the low mounting height, with no dark zones appearing between fittings.
Economics: what the switch delivers
This luminaire replaces conventional HID or HQI fixtures of 400 to 500 watts with equal or better light output. In continuous night operation the difference adds up quickly: where 500 watts used to run, it is now 200 watts – with better light quality at the same time. Added to this is the end of lamp replacement, which HQI installations require every few years and which needs a lifting platform each time under a canopy. With a service life of 50,000 hours and more than 200,000 switching cycles, the LED luminaire works maintenance-free for many years.
Ruggedly built for outdoor use
The housing is made of die-cast aluminium with integrally formed cooling fins. These dissipate heat passively, so no fan is required – one less component that can fail. The IP65 rating means complete protection against dust and against water jets from all directions, which also qualifies the luminaire for jet cleaning. IK08 stands for high impact resistance as required in publicly accessible spaces. The approved temperature range from −30 °C to +55 °C covers both frosty nights and heat build-up beneath the canopy.
Colour temperature 5000 K – daylight white
At 5000 kelvin the luminaire emits a daylight white light that comes very close to midday sun. It looks crisp, businesslike and activating – exactly right where attention and clear vision come first. In loading bays, at inspection points and in technical areas this colour temperature makes close inspection easier, as details and edges stand out distinctly. It is also beneficial for video surveillance, since cameras deliver particularly high-contrast footage in this spectrum. If you prefer a warmer, calmer light, the same luminaire is also available in 4000 K.

Applications
Typical locations are petrol stations and their canopies, car parks and underground garages, loading bays and delivery areas, underpasses and covered drive-throughs. The luminaire is also used in industrial halls with low ceilings and at covered sports facilities. Wherever little installation height is available yet plenty of light is needed, the flat canopy design is the fitting solution.
