The MOSO U7 is a constant-current, NFC-programmable LED driver with 40 W (model U7-040D057) and a wide input range of 176–305 V. Its 28–57 V output and adjustable current of 0.70–1.05 A (AOC) make it a flexible power supply for many luminaires of protection Class I and II. Its certified DALI-2/D4i interface integrates it fully into modern lighting control systems.

Protection features in detail

  • SCP – short-circuit protection
    If the output is short-circuited – for example by a wiring fault or a defect in the LED module – the driver switches the output off immediately and protects components and luminaire from damage. Protection is self-recovering: after about 30 seconds the driver restarts automatically once the fault is cleared.
  • UVP – under-voltage protection
    If the mains input voltage falls below a critical level (on the U7 in the region of 130–170 V), the driver shuts down automatically instead of running in an unstable state. This prevents flicker and operation outside the permitted range; when the voltage rises again the driver restarts automatically.
  • OVP – over-voltage protection
    If the output voltage rises impermissibly – for instance when the LED load is interrupted (open circuit) – the driver blocks or limits the output so that no harmful voltage reaches the luminaire. After it trips, the driver has to be disconnected from the mains once and powered on again.
  • OTP – over-temperature protection (external NTC)
    Via an external NTC sensor the driver measures the temperature directly at the luminaire or the critical component. If it gets too hot, it reduces the output current in stages (derating) instead of simply switching off – keeping the light on and protecting the LED. Once the system cools down, the driver returns to full power automatically.

The U7 40 W suits street, industrial and area lighting as well as demanding indoor and outdoor applications. Thanks to DALI-2/D4i integration, NFC programming and AstroDim night dimming it reduces energy consumption and maintenance.
